About Us

Creekside Commons Cohousing is a community of 36 privately owned homes. Our multigenerational and diverse households share common spaces, activities, and equipment. We work collaboratively to manage our common facilities and nine acres of land, enjoying these connections with our neighbors of all ages. Creekside Commons was created to provide housing that supports social interconnectedness while using resources efficiently. Respect for the environment is one of our highest values.

Each household at Creekside Commons owns a complete, self-contained duplex home and an equal portion of the nine acres of common land and extensive shared facilities. Community connection is supported by the physical layout of our site and by the involvement of all members in the development and ongoing operation of the community using a modified consensus decision-making process.

At Creekside Commons we balance our private lives with the commitment to our intentional community.  There’s time for daily walks, casual conversation, contemplation, spiritual practice, gardening, and other personal pursuits.  People gather together frequently or as they are inclined, for twice-a-week community potluck meals, seasonal events, to practice yoga and meditation, for volunteer work parties, informal gatherings and for small and large group meetings to reach consensus on the community’s needs.

We like to have fun together, too. Groups gather for swimming, gardening, cross country and downhill skiing, snowboarding, hiking, dancing, cooking, wine making, photography, astronomy, ceramic sculpture, knitting, poetry, woodworking, kayaking, sailing, canoeing, golfing, biking, book clubs and acting.
